Debbie Schiebrel Herndon

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Debbie Schiebrel Herndon, born April 17, 1969, in Key West, FL, to James Schiebrel and Nancy Yagla. Debbie had a spirit that simply could not be ignored. When she walked into a room, everyone knew she was there. She had a vibrant personality, a contagious laugh, and a heart that was always ready to help others. She was one of the hardest working people you could ever meet and believed in giving everything she had to those she loved. As a recovering addict herself, Debbie was passionate about encouraging others who were struggling. She understood the challenges of recovery and never hesitated to offer guidance, hope, and support to anyone who needed a helping hand. She believed everyone deserved a second chance and spent much of her life pointing others toward a better path. A true Key West beach girl at heart, Debbie loved the ocean and was happiest with the sun on her face and the wind in her hair while out on a boat. She was also a devoted Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and loved cheering on her team each season. More than anything, Debbie loved her family. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Matthew Herndon; her daughter Christina Loveday (Chris); her daughter Ebonie Alexander; and her son Donald "DJ" Palazzolo. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Cailyn and Jocelyn Loveday and Natalie and Isaiah Palazzolo, who brought endless joy to her life. She is also survived by her sisters, Mellony Schiebrel and Jackie Rae, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who loved her as family. Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Yagla, and her grandmother, Audree Schiebrel. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the owners and incredible team at The Local Oyster House & Seafood Restaurant for their love, kindness, and unwavering support during this difficult time. We are also deeply grateful for Debbie's many friends who stood beside her throughout her life and loved her like family. Debbie's legacy is one of resilience, compassion, laughter, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a reminder to live boldly, help others whenever possible, and cherish every moment with the people we love. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
