Nancy Horton Moore, the beloved heart and soul of the Horton Moore family, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, at the age of 79. Nancy is survived by her husband, Raymond Moore; her daughter Loray Lamar (Craig), grandchildren Ashley Crumpton (Casey) and Joshua Lamar (Kristine), great-grandchildren Laytyn Crumpton, Jeb Crumpton Walker Crumpton and Jude Lamar, brothers Wayne (Gayle), Clifton (Anice), Erwin (Darlene), Dale (Leila), brother-in-law Kenneth Moore (Brenda) and extended family, all of whom will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Eloise Horton who welcomed her home into the loving arms of Jesus. Nancy was born on September 29, 1945, as the only daughter of Fred and Eloise Horton, growing up alongside four older brothers. Despite being the youngest, Nancy more than held her own, quickly establishing herself as both the tender and the tenacious force within the family. As a young woman, she learned the value of hard work and selflessness from her parents, a lesson she carried with her throughout her life, especially in her role as their devoted caregiver. In 1963, Nancy married Raymond Moore, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication. For 62 years, Nancy and Raymond were not only partners in life but also in love, raising a family centered on faith, integrity, and an unwavering bond. Nancy’s legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who all knew her as a constant source of love, wisdom, and strength. Whether as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, or aunt, Nancy poured herself into her relationships with an unparalleled devotion. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her kindness was evident in the countless ways she gave of herself to others. Nancy was more than just loving and giving—she was fiercely independent, determined, and resolute. Though she spent her life caring for others, she stubbornly refused to be the recipient of such care, often going to great lengths to ensure others were taken care of before herself. Her family and friends will remember her for her strength of character and for her ability to touch the lives of everyone she encountered. Nancy's passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew her. Yet, her love and her spirit will continue to inspire her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She lived a life full of grace, courage, and compassion, leaving a profound impact on all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. "It is Well" with her soul! We will celebrate the life of Nant Nant on Friday, Nov. 22. We will welcome family beginning at 11:30, followed by friends at 12:00 and a celebration of life beginning at 1:00.
