Bobby Gene Storey

October 22, 1939 - January 10, 2021

Bobby Gene Storey of Chelsea, Alabama, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 10, 2021, at the age of 81. He was born on October 22, 1939 in Big Spring, Texas to the late Everett E. Storey and Annie Ruth Walton Storey. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Laura Lee McMahan Storey; his son, Mark Dwayne Storey; and his sister, Georgia Faye Storey Adams. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Debra Stone Storey; daughter and son-in-law, Maria Lee Storey Tarry and Tommy Shane Tarry; son, Michael Ray Storey; grandchildren, Andrew Tyler Tarry, Daryl Nicole Storey, and Joshua Byron Storey; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond Edward Storey and Betty Gail Brookes Storey; aunts, Barbara Sue Walton Filleman and Betty Jane Walton Dixon; mother-in-law, Dolores Walker Stone; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen Kay Stone Townsend and Edward Mitchell Townsend; and beloved nieces and nephews. Bob retired after a 30-plus year career at IBM as a Systems Engineer. He loved his church and faithfully worshipped and served the Lord at Grace Presbyterian Church in Chelsea. He enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, cooking, woodworking, and painting. Most of all, he loved helping other people. Graveside services will be held at Pinelawn Gardens Cemetery in Columbiana, Alabama on Thursday, January 14 at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Mark Horn will be officiating.
