Louise was born in Houston, MS on October 7, 1929. She was born to parents Miller and Oma Howser of Houston. She had three brothers, Leon, Harley and Lonnie, and one sister Jean Bevels. All are deceased. She married Burkett Warren Betts Jr. of West Point, MS and had four children, Rebecca, Patricia, Warren and Mark. Later in life she married Patrick Cain and settled in New Orleans, before she and Pat relocated to Wilsonville. Louise was a professional hairstylist and color expert and worked in the Beauty, Fashion and Cosmetics profession for decades beginning in the 1960s all the way through the turn of the 21st Century. She began her career with Ferman Fant in Birmingham, AL and expanded it in New Orleans. She worked in hairstyle, trade and fashion shows for 40 years in Birmingham, New Orleans, and other metro locations where Fant and her employers sent her. She also trained many up-and-coming hairstylists. Louise was admired for her expertise and sense of styles and hair colors. She was uniquely creative in her award-winning work of which she was recognized by her peers. She knew hair color like a painter knows paints. She developed and implemented sophisticated hair color and style techniques for her clients for customized and specific personal appearances. Many of her clients were local news anchors or local celebrities. Louise was inventive during her career and she was an advocate for equality where she was outspoken on behalf of her choice of clients and the workplace. She contributed to the advancement of hair color technology by spearheading special trial programs for her employers. Louise had a passion for animals and she would spend much of her free time caring for her many rescued pets and supporting causes for wildlife. During her lifetime she had over 25 pets, all were either rescued or adoptees from rescue centers. She profoundly loved them all. When she retired her animals became her full-time job and she cherished every moment with them. Louise is survived by her current spouse Patrick Cain of Wilsonville as well as three of her children, Rebecca Louise Lenox, Patricia Ann Webb and Burkett Warren Betts III. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and their families: Jeffrey Webb, Stephanie Lenox Knight, Melissa Lenox Elmore, Robin Duley, Richard Duley, Cole Betts and Jerrica Betts. Louise had a very strong belief in God, compassion for animals and love for her family. She knew in her heart that God greatly loved all of his animals. Louise would often cite "they are his creations and they are innocent and without sin." "The love from an animal is the closet to God’s love that we have on Earth".
