Ronnie Lawson Hunt Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ronnie Lawson Hunt, age 74, of Columbiana, AL, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Cedartown, GA, in 1947, son of the late Robert and Burnell Hunt of Tallapoosa, GA. He is also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Rebecca Hunt, also of Columbiana. He is survived by his wife, Sherry; sons, Robbie (Dawn) Hunt, of Columbiana, and Greg (Eden) Hunt, of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Randall Hunt, Rachel Hunt, Will Hunt, Andrew Hunt, and Elizabeth Hunt, and his uncle, Dillard Mize, of Tallapoosa, GA. Ronnie enjoyed welding and construction in his younger years. He was a recycler before recycling became popular, taking items that were no longer needed and making them into something new! He designed and built trailers, monkey bars, basketball goals, a wood splitting machine, and many other interesting projects. He enjoyed food, reminiscing about past meals, reading cookbooks, and cooking (when he was in the mood). He used his creativity to make watermelon boats and beef roasts he decorated to look like a possum! He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make others laugh by telling jokes or pulling pranks! In later years Ronnie enjoyed traveling and spending time outdoors. He backpacked with family members from the south rim to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. He loved the ocean and the beach, making many trips to Florida and to St. John, USVI. He also traveled to New York, Colorado, and many other states in the Southwest. Ronnie was a born again Christian and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Columbiana. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, May 29, 2022, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bolton Funeral Home in Columbiana, AL, with Dr. Mike Miller officiating. His ashes will be buried in Pinelawn Gardens Cemetery at a later date. Ronnie was a longtime member of the SemiColon Club, a support group for colorectal cancer survivors sponsored by Rumpshaker, Inc.
