Dawn Marie Allen

Dawn Marie Allen was called to heaven Monday, September 30, 2024, surrounded at home by her loving family. She is survived by her adoring husband of 39 years, Randy. Also surviving sons Caleb Allen; Joshua Allen (Ashley); David Allen (Lindsey); and Jonathan Allen. Other survivors mother Argeline Yarbrough; brother Charles Yarbrough and sister Renee Covington (Jim). A number of nieces and nephews as well as grandnieces and grandnephews. She was proceeded in death by her farther Arlie Yarbrough and sister Diane Patterson. Dawn was born September 14, 1963, and raised in Center Point and was a graduate of Erwin High School. Dawn was attending Jeff State where she met her future husband on September 30, 1983, on a Baptist Student Union retreat at Shocco Springs. They were inseparable until Dawn left that summer to be a North American Missionary, suffering for the Lord in West Palm Beach, Florida for 10 weeks. Upon return, she and Randy were wed October 19, 1984. Of their 39 years they served faithfully together in their Christian Walk, wherever they lived. The most important aspect of her life was to serve God, lead her family and anyone she encountered to Christ. She was a stead fast prayer warrior and never waivered in her faith, even in the final days of her life. Dawn loved to travel which began as a child. That love continued and grew as her family grew. It was the simple things that made her happy, a campfire, s’mores and playing games with her children. Her favorite places to vacation involved anywhere with mountains and a flowing stream. She loved to bake and would share with all. Her specialty was Strawberry Pound Cake, Chocolate Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies, Cream Cheese Brownies, and her dad’s recipe for Banana Nut Bread. Randy has since mastered this which she gladly handed the reigns over to him. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, unconditional love for all she met and kindness, and devotion to her family. In that family is her dog, Deuce. Wherever you found Dawn, you would find Deuce nearby if not sleeping in her lap. Dawn’s Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church Columbiana. Family will receive friends at FBCC from 12:00 to 12:45 the day of service.
