Jacqueline "Jackie" Gober

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Gober, who peacefully went to be with the Lord, at home surrounded by family and close friends, on Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 88. Jackie dedicated her life to nurturing her family and embracing the beauty of the world around her. Jackie was a remarkable woman who raised her family with love and laughter on a quaint sheep farm in Calera. Here she instilled a strong work ethic, love for nature, and the values of perseverance, adventure, and kindness. In retirement, she and her husband Bill retired to Lake Wehapa in Leeds, where they found their next adventure, from making life-long friends, relaxing by the lake, fishing, gardening, and cultivating a warm and loving home filled with laughter and joy. Passionate travelers with adventurous spirits, Jackie and Bill embarked on countless adventures around the country where she embraced new places, and created unforgettable memories that enriched her life and the lives of those around her. Her tales of adventure will forever be etched in our hearts, a reminder of her zest for life and the joy of exploration. She is preceded in death by her parents: Paul S. and Lois Jernigan; her husband: William W. Gober Jr.; her son: David L. Gober; her brother: Robert “Bob” Jernigan; her stepson: Reggie Gober; her stepdaughter: Brenda (Wayne) Smith; and her step-grandson: Scott Smith. She is survived by her daughter: Patricia (Russell) Crowe; her grandchildren: Ami (Mark) Steed, Gracie Crowe, and Mason Crowe; her brother: Jerry Jernigan; her step-grandchildren: Larry (Patty) Smith, Sandra (Mark) Holmes, Cindy (Tom) Klukosky; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, resilience, and adventure that will continue to inspire us every day. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bolton Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. Bro. Edward Vines will be presiding. She will be laid to rest at Jefferson Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM. Rest in peace, dear Mom, Gran, Gammie, Your spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
