Judith Karen Spencer

Judy Karen Spencer (nee Rehn) of Collingswood, NJ went to be home with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 14, 2014 at the age of 64 yrs. She leaves behind her loving mother Arline Rehn (nee Myre). She also leaves behind her devoted husband of 42 years. Pastor Christian Spencer, who met her on Mt. Zion in Jerusalem, Israel. God graciously granted their marriage 13 wonderful and talented children, 8 sons and 5 daughters, whom Judy home schooled from kindergarten through 12th grade: Netanya Yehudit Spencer, M.D./PhD of Iowa City, IA; Ariel Uzziah Spencer, M.D. (Bethany) of Johnson City, TN; Philemon Theologos Spencer, M.D (Robin) of Tallassee, AL; Nehemiah Ebenezer Spencer, M.D. (Pamela) of Coral Springs, FL; Hillard Theophilus (“Theo”) Spencer, M.D. (Mingsum, M.D.) of Boston, MA; Anastasia Zoe Rairigh, M.D. (Daniel) of Knoxville, TN; Elijah Adoniram Spencer, M.D. (Martha) of Pensacola, FL; Evangelyn Aletheia Spencer, M.S. of Collingswood, NJ; Amana Eliora Spencer of Collingswood, NJ; Sebastian Martus Spencer (Kayla) of Mobile, AL; Isaiah Phinehas Spencer of Jacksonville, FL; Anatoly Boethos Spencer of Collingswood, NJ, and Megaly Poema Spencer of Collingswood, NJ. She also leaves behind 15 wonderful grandchildren, her brothers and sisters Stanley I. Rehn (Joan) of Denton, MD, Martha “Molly” Jones (Richard) of Pekin, IL and Nathan M. Rehn (Charlotte) of Monterey, CA. She leaves behind numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Judy was a godly woman beyond compare. She loved her family, but most importantly, she loved the Lord Jesus Christ. God graciously granted her skills in Spanish, Hebrew and N.T. Greek. She graduated with highest honors from Cedarville University (B.A.) and from Ohio State University (M.A.). She also received her M.Ed. from William Patterson College in Wayne, NJ and her Ed.S. from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. She earned lifetime certification in elementary education and secondary mathematics. She studied abroad in Israel at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and The American Institute of Holy Land Studies (Jerusalem University College). She was a member of the Home School Legal Defense Association and the organist for the Bible Presbyterian Church of Collingswood alongside her husband who is the pastor of the church. She was gentle, encouraging and an overall Proverbs 31 woman who served others with diligence, love and faithfulness. Viewing will be Tuesday, March 18, 2014 (10:00AM) at the Bible Presbyterian Church, 1115 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ 08108. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 AM, also at the church. Interment will take place at Wilsonville Cemetery in Wilsonville, AL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Bible Presbyterian Church at the above address.
