Randall Royce Morris

Randall Royce Morris, born June 11, 1945, to William Royce Morris and Olive “Pollye” Holman Morris, died peacefully on July 15, 2026 after a 4 year battle with dementia. He and his wife Donna lived and raised three children in the Columbiana, Alabama community on a small farm near Bethel Baptist Church. “Randy” graduated from Shelby County High School in 1963. As a captain of the football team he was known for his toughness on the field and also his kindness among his classmates. He attended Livingston State University where he met his wife of 37 years, Donna Reed Morris. They married in 1969 and he joined his father operating the family farm until 1993. He later moved to Hartselle, AL and continued working in the agricultural industry hauling feed and freight to farmers in North Alabama until he sold that business and retired in 2022. Randy was committed to his Christian faith throughout his life and was active in Baptist youth fellowship programs during high school and Campus Crusade during college. He served faithfully as a deacon at both Bethel Baptist Church and at First Baptist Church of Columbiana. He also enjoyed serving on men’s mission trips and singing in the choir. In addition to his faith and his work ethic, Randy was known to be a man who could be trusted and was highly respected by the people in his community. In business, he was innovative, and taught himself many skills necessary for the work he needed to do. Often veterinarians would seek his counsel on issues regarding animal husbandry. He was dedicated in his approach to work and always set the standard by being willing to take on any task first. Randy believed strongly in conservative ideas about freedom and economics. He supported viewpoints of less government, free market capitalism, and lower taxes. Randy leaves behind his children. Heath Morris, (Nikki), Sharla Morris Rose (Bob) and Jared Morris (Jill). He had six grandchildren, Karson, 22; MaryClaire, 20; Halle, 19; Averi, 19; Harper, 17; and Hayes, 13. He is survived by and was loved by his ex-wife Donna, who visited him regularly and helped with his care; his sister Karen Morris Jones (Mike), and brother Caleb Morris (Lisa). These along with many cousins, nieces and nephews will mourn his passing and his memory. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at Bolton Funeral Home in Columbiana, AL at 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the UAB Frances Gorrie Alzheimer’s Disease Center for research.
